About

Annette Den Ouden graduated at the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam in 1988 and lives in Amsterdam.

She received her first Stipend of the Foundation of Visual Arts Design and Architecture (FBKVB) in 1990 and set off on a photo trip around the world that would last twenty months. Thanks to another grant she travelled for ten months exploring Tibet, Ladakh and the Tibetans in exile in the refugee camps in India. Consequently she travelled to photograph the peoples and cultures of the world that either captured her curiosity or touched her profound sense of justice. Ever since, making photos this way became her love and her life. The Corona Pandemic has now put a stop to her travels.
